Memorium Spacebat

Zippity zappity
Spacebat of Discovery
Wounded and clinging to
avoid a fall.

So romantically this
Free-tail-Chiroptera
Heroic'lly rises and
Exceeds us all.

Ahab

She's on the phone voice tear stained and its one-am
I pull myself my dreams and my sheets to the floor
And this time
I can smell it on the air as I dress to hunt in black and she
See rough dark jeans to unbuckle and drop
See cheap logos shirt to grasp and pull
And leather jacket to press against her closeness

My armory is full
Naruda, Laux, Shakespeare,
And nameless Egyptian number twenty three
Cummings is unexpected so I bring him whispering
Since feeling is first
She who ever questions my intent
Will never wholly love

I am unstoppable
I cross my lawn
Cross the city cross her doorstep cross the threshold
But I will never reach her

I cannot cross time filled with
Bodies and beds and books on tables
Hopeful dreaming heads
Downed with a light brown hair
And my eyes staring out over empty
Nights burning in nihilistics

Tonight she is drowning
Looking to be saved
And I am on my way
With the harpoon she armed me with
